In Spring of 2017 our classroom made an audio book and video of “Where the Wild Things Are”. The kids narrated it, made the artwork and took most of the video.
They each got a DVD to take home.

MOUNTAINS. Students learned about 4 types of mountains and how they are formed. Then they made their own mountains, learning first hand how earth folds, crumples, pushes up and becomes a landform called a mountain.
Los estudiantes aprendieron acerca de 4 tipos de montañas y cómo se forman. Entonces hicieron sus propias montañas, aprendiendo de primera mano cómo la tierra se pliega, se arruga, se empuja y se convierte en una forma de relieve llamada montaña.
We signed Tibetan prayer flags that will soon be flying proudly in the cold winds at the base camp of Mount Everest the tallest mountain in the world. The two musicians pictured below will visit our classroom on their return from Tibet in November and will play music for us. (More on that later)

Students learn about creative design, teamwork and leadership when given a “problem”. Build a tower with only 12 popsicles sticks, a limited amount of tape, a small lump of modeling clay and half a sheet of paper. Each group or individual found a unique way to solve this problem.
Los estudiantes aprenden sobre el diseño creativo, el trabajo en equipo y el liderazgo cuando se les da un “problema”. Construir una torre con sólo 12 palitos de paletas, una cantidad limitada de cinta adhesiva, un pequeño trozo de barro de modelado y media hoja de papel. Cada grupo o individuo encontró una manera única de resolver este problema.
